We have had a wonderful summer and oh my gosh, it went so quick! The fruit and produce have been beautiful and we sure enjoyed the fresh peaches from the farmers market. However, our bakers have grown weary of what was once so fresh and exciting in the spring…strawberries, peaches, blueberries…Oh, the delight when we baked our Strawberry Cake with those luscious bright red berries. We are now so over it and ready to move on to some of our other favorites…pumpkin and apples, caramel and pecans.


The little baking pumpkins won’t be out for a while yet and the AC is still cranking away, but come on…you can’t deny the fact that once the kids were back in school, and you noticed that the afternoon sun tips just a little bit further south and we have that rare moment when the wind shifts and starts coming in from the north…well, by then it’s all over. Mentally we are all ready for those amazing fall flavors.

This week we are baking Pumpkin Scones and will be bringing back many of your favorites. Look for our Mini Pecan Pies, Mini Pumpkin Pies and I am thinking about sneaking some of those wonderful fall spices into our already mouth-watering Giant Cinnamon Rolls. If you haven’t already tried our Apple Caramel Cheesecake Bars you are missing out. This morning there was only one in the case so I know Nancy and Andrea will be busy making a fresh batch first thing tomorrow.
